A Scratchy Day

Sunday was Juan's Duo day, and he kindly invited me to come fly with him. We launched around 11:30, and found some odd lift, part thermal, maybe a bit of wave. Climbed just a few hundred feet above tow very slowly, then I fell out of it and couldn't keep us aloft. As we descended a band of cirrus moved off, and we got some really good bumps in the pattern. Landed, had a burger, and towed up for a much better flight. Did a couple of laps to Fitchburg, once even got over 4,000 above ground, but mostly it was scratchy and weak. Great to fly though; thanks Juan !

Dave Nadler

[Dave kindly offered a last ride of the day to a group of us huddled on the tarmac to keep warm, but all declined. Thanks, Dave.]
